PMELODY2 shooting with a Nikon D5000.

Look what you’ve done, now I’m starting to yearn.  These shots are stunning, thanks for sharing P. The images above are a few of my top 8 from Noey’s trip to Paris. I couldn’t narrow it down to 5!  But you’re missing out if you don’t view the albums, such as RANDOM PARIS.

The Nikon D5000 is really affordable and takes beautiful photos. Depending on what type of camera you want and what you want to spend, there are some excellent choices for digital point & shoot, digital SLR or film cameras.

The Canon 7D DLSR is a significantly more expensive option.  But the video capabilities make me drool a little.  Details on gizmodo.  I was sold almost a year ago when I saw Phillip Boom’s cinematography work using Canon 5D and 7D DSLR’s featured on motionographer.com.

I’m looking around for a camera but my eyes are bigger than my wallet.

Leica, you have stolen my heart and…

The Leica X1 Point & Shoot – Takes ridiculous pictures and could arguably be better than some SLR’s out there.

The Leica M7 Hemès – Very cool, very expensive film camera. It’s all about the lens – fast wide angle and lightweight.  By the way, how cute is this style?

The Leica S-System – SLR Digital camera, a system all it’s own and costs more than my life.

I was gonna get you that Leica M7 Hermés until I saw the price tag. I don’t love you that much.

Sorry Joy, Sorry God.

Thanks Joy! So sweet of you :)

If you’re thinking of buying a camera, I’d highly recommend this guy:

http://www.kenrockwell.com

Although he’s slightly on the douchey side, he’s incredibly knowledgeable and offers no-bs reviews of pretty much every camera and lens on the market. He originally (Nov 09) called the D5000 his favorite consumer DSLR – considering price, performance, etc – but it’s since been displaced by the just-released D7000. Here’s the review –

http://kenrockwell.com/nikon/d7000.htm

In a sweet bit of irony, I didn’t find this guy until after I bought my camera. Here’s the first words of his D5000 review: “November 2010: NEW: The new Nikon D7000 is much, much better. Please treat the rest of this review as historic. As of November 2010, the D5000 seems to have been discontinued.” Awesome! Still a damn good camera though, and about $600 cheaper than the D7000.

yeah the canon 7d is the one that i want. the 5d is better as far as photography goes, with minor enhancements and 21 mp. but the 7d, with its multiple hd settings. the bundled video and still options are what i like best. i’d sacrifice still options for video enhancements. and 18mp ain’t too shabby.

i keep going back and forth between the 7D and the 5D Mark II… and then i remember that i don’t need that much camera… but they’re so damn pretty!!

the pics pat took with his D5000 really are great. and joy, that before and after shit is sick and twisted… and hilarious…

and gg, did you notice in the 3rd picture there is what looks to be the letter “N” on one of the skulls.

Joy ( December 5, 2010 at 11:01 AM )

you bet i noticed! of course, it could also be a “Z”… maybe Zorro took a trip to paris and decided to leave his mark.
